💻What’s New in TopClass LMS: Elevating Association Learning

We’re excited to share what’s new in TopClass LMS this month. Our June 2025 release is filled with updates that make it easier to manage learning, improve the user experience, and strengthen your connection with iMIS. Whether you’re an administrator, instructor, or learner, there’s something here for you.

What’s New in the Upcoming TopClass Upgrade

Over the past few months, our team has been hard at work refining existing capabilities and introducing powerful new features for the next release of TopClass LMS.

💡 iMIS Integration Improvements

• Create Users Writeback

  Now when you manually add a user in TopClass, that information can be pushed directly into iMIS. The user will be created or updated in iMIS automatically, including credentials for single sign-on. No extra steps needed.

• Enrollments Writeback

  If you offer free items in TopClass, like member-only webinars or complimentary courses, you can now sync those enrollments back to iMIS. You can choose to send over all enrollments or just the free ones. It’s flexible to match your workflow.
• Fees Sync

This new integration helps keep your data in sync by matching fee purchases in iMIS with the appropriate fees in TopClass.

👩‍💻 A Better Experience for Learners

• Share Badges on LinkedIn, Two Ways

Learners can now share their achievements however they like. They can post a badge directly to the Licenses & Certifications section or share it in a regular LinkedIn post. Each badge can be shared in either format, based on their preference.

• Clearer Failed-Test Notifications
  When a learner doesn’t pass a test, they’ll get a clear message explaining what happened. The alert includes how many attempts are left and what steps to take next, so there’s no confusion.
• Extra Time on Tests, Per Learner
  Need to give someone more time on a test? Admins and instructors can now grant extra minutes for specific learners on individual tests, offering flexibility when it’s needed most.
  
  
  

👨‍🏫 Authoring and Instructor Tools

• Searchable Question Banks

Save time by using the new search feature in your question banks. Look for questions by text, answer choice, or title. No more scrolling through long lists to find what you need.

• More Instructor Permission Controls
  Control what instructors can do with new permission settings. For example, they can view submissions without being able to grade or comment. Only Super Admins can delete submissions, helping you maintain clean records.
  
  
  

✅ Certification and Reporting Enhancements

• Path-Level Certificates and Custom Sections
  Now you can issue certificates not just at the program level, but for individual paths too. You can also create multiple custom sections within a path, reorder them, and require learners to complete them in a specific order.
• More Path-Level Settings
  You now have more control over maintenance settings at the path level. Configure auto-enrollment, set custom start dates, and adjust credit rules. You can also batch-award certificates for each path individually.
• New Student Status Report
  Get a comprehensive overview of your certification programs and paths. See who’s enrolled, their progress, key milestones, and more—all in one report.
  
  
  

💼 Admin and Miscellaneous Updates

• Manager Controls
  Managers can now override test status, grant additional attempts, or give extra time to their team members. These changes can be made one at a time or in bulk, based on system-wide defaults.
• Certificate Customization
  Customize how credit types and subtypes appear on certificates. Choose to display names, codes, or titles. You can also update the date format and reuse variables with unique formatting across the certificate.
• Branding Refresh
  Everywhere that used to reference “Twitter” now reflects the new “X” branding, including logos and text.
• Bundles with Redirects
  If your shopping cart is turned off, bundles can now redirect to an external system using an External ID and Source. Your catalog stays seamless and intuitive.
• Custom Contact Us Widget
  Direct your “Contact Us” widget to your own helpdesk or support page by adding your preferred URL in the system settings.
