💻What’s New in the Upcoming TopClass Upgrade. 

🖥️ Proctoring

We have a powerful new integration in TopClass LMS. You can now enable proctoring for TopClass tests with Integrity Advocate, ensuring test integrity and compliance with your organization’s requirements.

Here’s how it works:

Seamless Proctoring Setup

A new Proctoring setting is available under Test Settings > Test Setup for each test. Once enabled, proctoring ensures that learners taking the test are recorded, with their attempt reviewed by the Integrity Advocate team. They validate the session against the rules set in your Integrity Advocate account/license to determine if the attempt was valid.

Proctoring in Action

When proctoring is enabled:

• Admin Features: A new Integrity Advocate tab appears on Online and Blended Activities, providing an embedded admin widget directly from Integrity Advocate. This widget offers real-time updates and necessary information for managing proctoring sessions.

• Learner Experience: The learner’s workflow remains nearly unchanged until they reach the proctored test. Upon starting the test, learners are presented with rules, guidelines, and a verification process from Integrity Advocate—all seamlessly displayed within the TopClass interface.

During the Test

• A small video window displays the learner’s camera view during the test.

• Both the screen and camera are recorded.

• If a learner attempts to navigate away from the test, they’ll see a warning. Choosing to leave ends the proctoring session, while staying allows them to continue until they submit the test.

After the Test

• Upon submission, the learner sees a submission verification message instead of their test results. The proctoring session ends, and the video feed disappears.

• The test is then sent to Integrity Advocate for manual review. While under review, the test remains in an Awaiting Review status. Integrity Advocate will confirm whether the attempt meets the specified rules, providing a valid or invalid result to complete the review process.

This integration ensures a smooth, secure, and reliable testing experience for both admins and learners. Proctoring with Integrity Advocate upholds the highest standards of test integrity—all without leaving the familiar TopClass environment!

📑 Gradebook

This powerful new feature is designed to make it easier than ever for instructors and administrators to monitor, manage, and support student progress.

Here’s what makes the Gradebook a game-changer:

• Clear Student Performance

  • See each student’s top and weighted scores for every test, their progress in activities, completion status, and when they last logged in.

• Flexible Score Management

  • Instructors can manually set a student’s highest score for any test when needed.

• Detailed Test Information

  • You can explore important details like:

    • How many test attempts a student has used or has left.

    • Which tests need grading.

    • If students have uploaded documents with their submissions.

    • Whether a test is still in progress.

    • The scores from all previous attempts on a test.

  • Simplified Grading Workflow

    • Quickly spot where you need to step in, making the grading process faster and more efficient.

This feature-rich Gradebook is designed to empower educators with better control and visibility over student progress while providing a clear and transparent view of performance for students themselves.

⚙️ Search System Settings

A small but powerful new update to TopClass LMS in the upcoming release is the System Settings Search, making it easier than ever to find exactly what you need.

This new search bar, located at the top of the left-hand tab menu in System Settings, features typeahead functionality. As you type, it suggests relevant settings, helping you quickly navigate to the right option.

Here’s what makes the System Settings Search one of our most useful updates in this release:

• Search Across All Tabs: Easily find settings no matter which section they belong to.

• Clear Setting Paths: The dropdown displays the setting’s path, so you’ll know exactly where it’s located.

• At-a-Glance Values: For Boolean settings (yes/no), the current value appears in brackets next to the setting. For integer settings, the value is also displayed for quick reference.

This feature simplifies managing your LMS, saving you time and effort!

📼 Speed Up Videos

Learners now have the flexibility to adjust the playback speed of interactive videos, enabling them to speed up or slow down the content as needed for a more personalized learning experience.

This feature is available by default on all interactive videos, giving learners greater control over how they engage with course material.

🚨 Reminder to Complete Activity Notification

We’re excited to introduce a new batch notification to TopClass LMS, designed to remind learners about their enrollment in an Online Activity if they haven’t completed it.

This notification can be configured for each activity and will be sent a specified number of days after enrollment—only if the learner hasn’t yet satisfied the activity requirements.

Key details about this feature:

• Learners outside their valid period will not receive the notification.

• If a learner’s valid period expires but is later extended, they will only receive the notification if it’s scheduled to trigger after the valid period has been renewed. Notifications scheduled during the expired period will not be sent.

This enhancement ensures learners stay on track without unnecessary reminders, offering a smarter way to keep your online activities top of mind!
